PA Whiskey Tour
Western Pennsylvania’s own founding conflict, brought back to life on the ground it happened.
Region
Pennsylvania
Group size
12-24 travelers

TBD
Step back in time and immerse yourself in the rich history of Western Pennsylvania with a tour that brings the Whiskey Rebellion to life.
The Rebellion is historically significant as it tested the authority of the newly formed U.S. federal government under the Constitution, demonstrating its ability to enforce laws and maintain order, while also highlighting tensions between federal power and local resistance.
In addition to the historical knowledge you will gain, we tour, taste and enjoy libations at three fantastic and operational distilleries, one being the birthplace of Pittsburgh tycoon Henry Clay Frick. We are joined for the duration by Professor Timothy Hemmis, PhD, who provides commentary throughout and a contextual overview the night of arrival in the Lawrence Welk room of the Omni William Penn hotel in downtown Pittsburgh.
"Too much of anything is bad, but too much good whiskey is barely enough."
Mark Twain
